YC122.12.29 - The Meeting

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.29 Lauralite Anne Brezia Today has been one of those days that has rocked back and forth on the pendulum of uncertainty. I have been contacted by Ms. Brezia who is the CEO and founder of the Alliance  United Neopian Federation . They operate out Eugales system and therefore directly linked and obviously upset about the situation. Although the conversation was short it did not lack the gravity of the meeting she had offered. To add spice to the mix she had requested we meet her in her bar called  The Hissi Fit Lounge . Located in a system called  6NJ8-V , it lay deep in the Venal region. Yes, that's right, Guristas territory. She had assured me that those that call the area home would leave us alone, but it still made me nervous going somewhere like that. Before making the same mistake twice, I pinged Edward on the NADSC secure line who told me to report to his office in Jel. It was clear he wasn't impressed by...

YC122.12.23 - The Mistake

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY  CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC122.12.24 What a nightmare! I knew the job was too good to be true. Two hundred million isk to retrieve cargo and passengers was just too much. I'm such an idiot, too blinded with greed to assess the implications of this job. It turns out that the data slates I handed over were sensitive information belonging to groups in the Eugales and Archavoinet systems. They come under the influence of a capsuleer alliance called the United Neopian Federation. Aura link the APB on Galnet [NEOCOM - GALNET - APB -CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR ]  What am going to do?! I thought this was my first big contribution to my corporation, a first step to making a name for myself. This is going to drawn attention for sure, but not in a good way. The only consolation is that NADSC was not associated with this blunder for which I am grateful. I will have to tell the leadership of this to see what my next step will be?

YC122.12.21 - The Job

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.21 Today has been a good day. I was out on patrol scanning down Wightstorm data sites when a ping came through on Galnet of a potential job. It was a few jumps from the system I was in, so I decided to investigate.  Edgerunner Jericho (laughs) obviously not his real name, but I guess that would compromise opsec for the FIO if it were. The job looked easy enough and the intel I have from the FDU states that the system of Eugales is quiet. Arriving into the system I saw that local comms chatter was minimal, and the d-scan was clear, so I plotted a course and flew straight for Eugales VI.  The relay was easy to find but the marines on the other hand were a little harder to handle. The cargo hold of Imicus class frigate wasn't really fit for passengers but we managed to work something out, reassuring them that they wouldn't be in any danger. The drop off location was in the system at the Federal Defense Union Assembly ...

YC122.12.16 - Profits

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY   CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC122.12.16 Good Morning, this will serve as an update on the volatile ice storms and Sansha's Nation activity across the cluster I made a few days ago. It has become clear they are extremely profitable, and I have decided to make full use of NSV Snowdrop. Lower security systems have proven to pay out the most in the form of Deadspace Overseer's personal effects or OPE for short, AURA link an example please  [NEOCOM - LOOKUP -  Overseer's Personal Effects ]. Parts of the  Black Rise region , which makes up a large percentage of the Gallente-Caldari Warzone  have been hit by these storms, and so I can hit two birds with one stone. U nderstandably these areas have increased risk, but with that comes greater reward. So far, I have managed to pay off my first  Dominix class battleship [C/S NSV Diantha] and an Astero class frigate [C/S NSV Abelia] from these sites. I can only imagine the amount of...

YC122.12.13 - Yule Ball Pt.2

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.13 Last night was fun, but boy does my head pound. So much for implants and chemical boosters to keep hangovers at bay. The Yule Ball was amazing though and the venue;   L'Amore in Ballo was so beautifully decorated. I met quite a few people I had only spoken to on The Summit chat. Some were as I expected, so not so much. I managed to convince Edward  to come along, so he rustled something quick to put on and we flew over. I knew what it meant to Mr. Federation, but I did not realise the amount of attention I would receive with walking in on his arm. I am glad I cleared the air with Pamitha  before matters worsened. There was, or is still something between them and it made my heart swoon just thinking about the romance in it all. I have vowed to help her win him back, but that is as far as the plan went that night. The music and atmosphere were lovely despite the raised tension between a couple of Amarri...

YC122.12.12 - Yule Ball Pt.1

//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.12 Good Morning! I have not felt this excited since receiving my pilot’s licence, which in comparison is strange. Tonight, I will be going to my first ever party for capsuleers. Now I have been to parties and such, but those were only your standard Gallente teenaged rebellion kind of parties. And those were also before I became an egger , it is still weird saying that word. It has been organised by Madame Raske who owns the L'Amore in Ballo in the Kasrasi system. By all accounts most of the biggest parties are organised by her, so my excitement and anticipation are through the bulkhead. The system and station are neutral, and so almost everyone is welcome.   I went shopping yesterday for an outfit and picked out a lovely green dress and gloves that fit just right. Aura link the images of what I bought. [NEOCOM - HOLOPIC - My Dress + My Gloves ]  The bodice is covered in beautiful flowers and vines that f...

YC122.12.10 - Yoiul Festival

//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.10   Happy Yoiul! It is that time of year again when the elders tell folktales of Yoiul legends, children are gifted presents, and we look back and reminisce, or regret in some cases I suppose, on the year we have had. I say regret not for myself but for some of the other capsuleers. In the past month or so I have seen more than I could have seen in several lifetimes. And I have seen what that immortality affords to those that have made millions of more choices than I. No one is perfect and no one can make the right choice every time. Some do so freely, some not so much, but being able to recognise that decision and grow from it is what keeps our humanity intact.  The below poem is one of the more famous ones that the elders tell and it's quite long. For now, I have added the first few verses, but I have attached the link to Galnet for the full version. Let me tell the story of the lads of few charms, who once ...

YC122.12.05 - Pilgrimage

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY  CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC122.12.05 So today I  made my very first trip to the Eve Gate . Alain who organised the fleet explained to us that this wormhole was used by our ancestors to travel through from the old worlds. He said that a great many people make this annual trip for many different reasons. Some go to pay homage to the wonders of the galaxy, some to pay respects to a lost one, and some just to say they have at least once. As a child, we were told stories and shown holopics of places like this. But back then it was only a dream to be able to see it in person. Now as a capsuleer I can make these dangerous trips. The route took us through Amarr space and then through lowsec in the final segment, both presenting their own risks. But a few jumps later and we managed to make through to the final pipe of our journey unscathed.  Alain mentioned that we should make a quick detour to the Dead End system which was only two...

YC122.11.30 - Forget Me Not

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.11.30 Straton Technos   I woke this morning to find out one of our corporation members had left. Strat had joined around the same time as I and we got on quite well. Talking about our ambitions, sharing killmails and fits while we plexed in the warzone. It’s sad to find out that someone isn’t happy in their situation. I guess there could have been a number of factors to come to this conclusion. I did try speaking to him on the public Summit chat but he was reserved to give a reason. He did say he was sad not to speak in person before making the decision though. My best guess was that operating at different times than most of the corp, he felt a little isolated. It can be tough, I’ve been there before. And inaction drives you deepener down that rabbit hole until the light above is merely a candlelight flicker. Regardless of the paths we take, I wish him well. Bonne chance avec votre voyage, mon ami.   Oh, one mor...

YC122.11.24 - A Month of Immortality

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.11.24 It's been a month, a whole 30 days since I was born... Ummm re-born I guess? It's gone so quickly and I've done so much already. Joined a casuleer corporation, blew up a station, made my first solo kill on a pirate, and most recently enlisted our into the Federal Defense Union (FDU) to secure more systems in the name of the Federation. I had mentioned it before about war, and I think the most important question to ask is  why . I know I  know, I sound like a broke holotape, but it's essential. Firstly, why do I think my way of life and thinking is better than those of the Caldari State? Why do they think ours is not? They use to be a member of the Federation but broke away from the collective group years ago. Was our culture really that suffocating for them? The Intaki, Jin-Mei, members of the Republic and even some amarrians happily call the Federation home. If you look at Jita and the opening of...

YC122.11.16 - Recloning

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.11.16   Well, it's been a busy week. In an attempt to gain favour among my gallentean piers in the Federation Navy, I have been carrying out jobs that have been reserved for capsuleers. This is to gain trust to do larger more important missions for them and so on and so forth. Unfortunately, this has not been without loss. I was finishing off a mission and flying through the region called Placid. It's considered to be the border of Intaki/Syndicate space, and therefore the security level of it is considerably lower. Pirates had been gate camping, sitting a few kilometers off it, looking for a good target for some time. Unfortunately, my hauler was deemed to be one such target. Aura link killmail posted on Galnet [NEOCOM LINKING KILLMAIL - CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR - Kill: Clementine Lafleur (Nereus) Kill: Clementine Lafleur (Capsule) ] I have recloned before, but this was the first time from combat. It was... something...

YC122.11.10 - My Immortal Worth

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.11.10 As the incursions of Blood Raider attacks begin to slow down and their annual rituals comes to a close, my mind drifts to the question “What is my worth in this world?". I see the value these cultists place on the blood running through my veins, revering it as divine. I see the value other capsuleers place on the blank war clones, that are not unlike the ones used for ourselves. But what value do I have to those that I place my value in?   We have been given a gift of immortality, a means to travel the galaxy to expand our influence to the furthest star. But still, somehow we squander it overcome with petty bickering and greed.  War is all around us, from Black Rise to the Bleak Lands, to the Triglavian invasions and the newly formed Pochven. Capsuleer corporations and alliances go to war over what? Money, assets, space to live? The war being waged down in the southern regions of New Eden in th...

YC122.10.29 - Crimson Harvest

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.10.29   I have woken up to see reports flooding in via Galnet of Blood Raider fleets making their annual raids of high and lowsec space. It marks the start of what they call Crimson Harvest and it will be my first time actually seeing it. The older classmates at the University would tell scare stories of Amarrian cults that would capture you because you were a clone, believing that your blood was sacred to them. They would string you upside down and drain you like cattle and bath in your blood. They wouldn't kill you straight away no, you would be kept alive to ensure every last drop was squeezed out of you. You would suffer a very long and painful death until you were recloned. They would somethings finish the story with a crescendo of evil laughter, which seems cheesy now I think about it. But as bad as this was, they were some truths to it. Aura look up Blood Raiders. [NEOCOM LOOKUP – PIRATE ORGA...

YC122.10.27 - Silas Vitalia

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.10.27    Silas Vitalia It's the morning after my first OP with Nadire SecurityConsultants . I didn't know what to expect, but Edward (aka Mantel) our FC reassured me that it was going to be a straightforward exercise. We were to form up in Tanoo ready to attack an Astrahus class citadel owned by an individual named Silas Vitalia. I had been told she had upset quite a few people, enough to warrant the destruction of her base. Our CEO Charles said that we had been contracted to carry out the destruction of it and that as far as he knew, it was going to be just us. To our surprise members of various other corporations under the banner of Khimi Harar [CONCORD c/s – LUMEN ] had positioned themselves in the system. They were tagged as red on my overview by our corporation (for obvious reasons). But today, we were to release our collective arsenal at the common enemy.   Being fresh out of training and stil...

Origin - The Last Lafleur

Image
I was seventeen when it happened. We had learned about it in our Holo-studies, the importance of our planet to the Federation. Heard the whispers of liberation from the small communities of Caldari. But we never thought it would happen, and not so quickly. We heard them first, the retro thrusters slowing down their descend, the loud clunk of landing pads making contact with the ground. The heavy footfall of combat boots and the splintering of front doors as foreign soldiers dragged us out of our beds demanding to see our credentials. A barked command “Gallenteans, you are to remain in your homes, failure to comply and you will be shot”. The battles across the city could be heard for miles around, but by morning it was quiet. All channels had been tuned to a single broadcast of a disheveled reporter announcing what we had feared. That Caldari Prime was now under martial law by order of Executor Tibus Heth. For five years we were pawns held to ransom by our corporate overlords. For fi...
