YC123.04.15 - A Month Gone By

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY  CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC123.04.15 A whole month without an entry, wow? My biggest worry when I started this was that I would forget to take notes of my thoughts and feelings. I guess that was true? Is it possible that I am starting to lose touch with my own emotions like Charles mentioned all those months ago. Sure, I still get the shakes in combat, but they are not from panicking or worrying, they are from euphoria. That excitement of testing my skills against another. Like gladiators from the storybooks, striking at each other, blocking, parrying back and forth, vying for that killing blow. Maybe this is something all capsuleers experience, and maybe what leads them to that god complex I've seen? Regardless of that, a fair amount has happened lately which could have also contributed to the reason why. My work with the FIO in Eugales is still ongoing. I managed to sit down for our first meeting with Laura . I was accompanied by Jarlath ,...

YC123.03.14 - Grand Prix

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY  CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC123.03.14 This week sees the start of the  Federation Grand Prix . A series of checkpoints all over the cluster marking significant landmarks. I wasn't going to take part, partly due to many capsuleers unofficially calling it The Gank Prix . Some of the legs of each of the routes take you through lowsec which is prime for those that like to sit on a stargate and activate their bubbles and smart bombs. The Northern route eve takes you up through Syndicate to get to Solitude . To say this is a death race is an understatement, and even if you are on the fastest ship built, you are still at risk. Edward said he was running it and he even managed to get on the leaderboard the other day, which lit a fire under my feet to try it. My first lap went fine, no hassle. Only one camp but I managed to get through it in my Ares. The downside, it wasn't timed, and for me to be considered for the leaderboard I needed to run th...

YC123.03.08 - Ski Resort

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY  CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC123.03.08 The weekend has been simply wonderful! I traveled to Kor-Azor for the first time to enjoy the prize I bid on at Directix's fundraising auction that happened a few weeks ago. It was only for a day and a night at her Ski Resort in the mountains, but that was enough to enjoy the slopes. I was allowed to take a plus one, so I messaged Kelyn about it. He and I seemed to get on well before he was employed by LUMEN, but in my naivety, I put him at arm's length after he did. Maybe I thought it was unwise to consort with the enemy ? These past few months have shown me that those lines are terribly blurred and that some, maybe most of the things we were taught as children aren't as simple as us and them . This maybe is some means of an apology to him, and maybe even a chance to grow a stronger connection. We arrived later in the afternoon but managed to get a few hours of skiing in. I realised that it's much eas...

YC123.03.02 - Sujarento

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC123.03.02 Norman Seversky We did it! Finally, after three weeks of tug of war, we took Sujarento . It was hard-fought, but all credit must go to Lieutenant Sentinel Norman Seversky  and his team for making this happen. Without his leadership and drive to ensure all our militia's might was focused on this system, I don't think it would have happened. Intel had told us that it was the stronghold to the State militia's Marine Division lead by Fabian Berg , and if we would be to take it, it would be the last real resistance of State's militia strength broken. I am glad I could be there for a historic event. And I hope this is the right step into opening up a line of dialog to the Caldari, who have shown that they can not stand alone in a time where we must all band together against more present threats of our cluster. YC123.02.18 - Guardian's Gala

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY  CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC123.02.18 It's been a busy week in New Eden. A new CONCORD directive was announced to disrupt the annual celebrations between the Serpentis pirates and Angel Cartel. I and a few of my corp mates have been doing just that. I did make a mistake on day one though, losing my Astero after it got decloaked by one of their frigates. But with the combination of bounties, overseer's effects, and a random assortment of commodities, we have been making a tidy profit. They have also been dropping SKIN licenses which I thought would be a nice idea to donate to Directrix Dahiti's   fundraiser auction event.  It's happening on the 23rd, so I hope I can make it. Before in combat  I would get flustered and overwhelmed, getting so caught up that my vision would tunnel. This time around though I was able to take a  step back  and actually see what is going on around my ship. I even managed to take a few pictures. ...

YC123.02.10 - Price of Immortality

//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY   CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE   YC123.02.10 I haven't written any form of poetry since mother and father died. It use to be such an escape to be able to find somewhere in the middle of nowhere and let my mind wonder. The past few years I have just been so preoccupied that I haven't had the chance. Don't get me wrong. all the new and amazing things and people I have seen, heard and met have beyond anything I could of imagined. My friends would be in awe with the tales I could tell now. Although, now that I think about it, I guess that life is no longer my life anymore?  This has been something that I have thought about more and more, and with the  announcement on the IGS of a writing contest in March ,I have decided to put pen to paper. I don't know if I'll ever publish it publicly but just so I have it written down somewhere, I'm going to record it here. I believe 'tis right to ponder our worth, Less a teardrop in the ocean of stars...

YC123.02.01 - A Gift

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC123.02.01 Zentron Kalkoken Sometimes I wonder what impact we can make in this cluster. Maybe it's too big of a goal to try and change everything on your own. Sometimes the best thing you can do is make an impact on someone else. The other day I got into a very deep conversation with my friend Zentron  about what it means to be us . Casuleers have transcended the mortal shell that held humans back for so long. We can go out into the vastness of space without a care, trading volleys at each other with the intent to blow one another up. When this becomes the norm, we forget about those that only have one life serving aboard our vessels. We see them not as humans but as expendable playthings, ready to throw them at hazards we no longer care about. In some naive way, I saw capsuleers as the next step of evolution, an elevation of morality, but it seems to be the opposite. We've become numb to the sanctity of life, and I fear that...

YC123.01.31 - Unlikely Friends

//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC123.01.31 So I have found myself spending more and more time at the Hissi Fit Lounge. Ms Brezia had sent me an Evemail the other week offering a drink and chat. I was nervous at first as it was my second time in Venal and the first time by myself. But like before the offer was with the reassurance that I would be left alone by the Guristas that lived there. We spoke and drank and she proposed I joined her and a few members of her corporation on a roam into Nullsec. A way to make amends from before and also to get to know each other a bit more. I hadn't really known who Lauralite Anne Brezia was, other than what I thought was a scary Gursitas Leader who owned a bar in Venal. Turns out being a capsuleer affords you a lot of attention and Ms Brezia is no exception. After a short search on Galnet, I was bombarded with information about her. From her publications of various projects and initiatives  to  her growing arcolo...

YC123.01.27 - Anna Ahmatova-Requiem

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY   CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE   YC123.01.27 Much like the events in Basgerin, the Nadire region has been subject to the hands of pirates. I say pirates because that is what these capsuleers are. They lie, steal, and ransom people and corporations out of their ISK and blow their ships up for  fun . No other label fits more than Pirate. Yesterday we were given intel that a Raitaru class structure belonging to a corporation called Get Silents  in the Goinard system was to transition to its Abandoned state . Our hope was to ensure that the ships and equipment left inside would be safely transported out and that a safe dismantling of the structure could take place. This was not to be the case, the scheduled time had been off and we had waited for nothing. Today at 17:49 the structure had transited, a whole twenty-four hours later! To make matters worse,  Shadow Cartel had been privy to this intel and had already begun their own form of disman...

YC123.01.22 - Battle in Basgerin

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY   CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE   YC123.01.22 Max Singularity It's the morning after the biggest battle I have ever been apart of. Our corporation once again heeded the call for aid from our allies Electus Matari . I have been learning a lot from our friends, so when the ping came through, I welcomed it eagerly. This time it wasn't a military objective though, it was an opportunity to hit back at a very large and obnoxious thorn in the side of the cluster. That thorn would be none other than Snuffed Out . An announcement on Galnet was made by a famous capsuleer named Max Singularity , dubbed The Space Pope by the wider capsuleer community, stating that Snuffed Out was holding his structure to ransom . Located in the  Basgerin  system, it is a cul-de-sac low-security system and home to several Sixth Empire freeports that many use due to its central proximity in the cluster. There were many factions flying different banners in the system la...

YC123.01.13 - Upwell Consortium

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC123.01.13 Only a short entry today but an important one as it might affect our corporation. There was an announcement made a couple of months ago by  Upwell Consortium  that they would start implementing changes to their structures. Aura link the article [NEOCOM - GALNET -  UPWELL CONSORTIUM ] Yesterday we saw the final stage of those changes in the form of quantum cores now being required to power certain functions of the structure. They are costly even to capsuleer standards but without one, a structure can still be operational. What it does mean is that quite a few services that we as pilots rely on will not be supported. This raises the question to leadership, not just to Charles or Edward, but to many CEOs that own structures. Do they carry on without; leaving the station vulnerable without the proper support to defend it? Or do they install a core and potentially make themselves a target to a corporation who woul...

YC123.01.10 - Faction Warfare

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY   CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC123.01.11 Electus Matari We deployed to the southern theatre last night to led aid to our allies  Electus Matari . The operation was their third attempt to anchor an Astrahus in Ardar right next to the Floseswin gate. If deployed it would have provided an excellent staging area for the already intense fighting that has been going on in that infamous system. The war between the Empires has raged for years but every so often the balance is shifted in one way or another. It is clear that the recent rumours of House Sarum readying a new invasion plan of Floseswin IV had a deciding factor for EM to join the militia. Julianus Soter  What we didn't expect was the  Villore Accords joining the Minmatar militia also. The announcement from their leader; Julianus Soter to leave the Federation militia at the end of last year was sad but not surprising. Aura link both the announcements [NEOCOM - GALNET - JULIANU...

YC123.01.03 - Nadire Security Consultants

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY  CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC123.01.03 At the end of YC121 the Nadire District Parliament exercised its franchise powers to secure a Shipping & Security provider aligned with the values of its member states and the greater Federation. Two years on the NADSC is still patrolling the constellation, marking and tracking down know capsuleers and non-capsuleer groups that disrupt the systems. It was requested by the Nadire District Parliament to carry out an assessment of the constellation updating them on the progress we have made and the ongoing operations. As one of the newer members and partly to redeem myself, I have volunteered to prepared and present our findings to them. Last year Commander Adams and Captain  Androidson  carried out an Astrogeological Survey on the moons and asteroid belts in the systems. I mention this because I noticed a pattern from the few deployments we made into the constellation. The majority of those th...

YC122.12.29 - The Meeting

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.29 Lauralite Anne Brezia Today has been one of those days that has rocked back and forth on the pendulum of uncertainty. I have been contacted by Ms. Brezia who is the CEO and founder of the Alliance  United Neopian Federation . They operate out Eugales system and therefore directly linked and obviously upset about the situation. Although the conversation was short it did not lack the gravity of the meeting she had offered. To add spice to the mix she had requested we meet her in her bar called  The Hissi Fit Lounge . Located in a system called  6NJ8-V , it lay deep in the Venal region. Yes, that's right, Guristas territory. She had assured me that those that call the area home would leave us alone, but it still made me nervous going somewhere like that. Before making the same mistake twice, I pinged Edward on the NADSC secure line who told me to report to his office in Jel. It was clear he wasn't impressed by...

YC122.12.23 - The Mistake

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY  CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC122.12.24 What a nightmare! I knew the job was too good to be true. Two hundred million isk to retrieve cargo and passengers was just too much. I'm such an idiot, too blinded with greed to assess the implications of this job. It turns out that the data slates I handed over were sensitive information belonging to groups in the Eugales and Archavoinet systems. They come under the influence of a capsuleer alliance called the United Neopian Federation. Aura link the APB on Galnet [NEOCOM - GALNET - APB -CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR ]  What am going to do?! I thought this was my first big contribution to my corporation, a first step to making a name for myself. This is going to drawn attention for sure, but not in a good way. The only consolation is that NADSC was not associated with this blunder for which I am grateful. I will have to tell the leadership of this to see what my next step will be?

YC122.12.21 - The Job

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.21 Today has been a good day. I was out on patrol scanning down Wightstorm data sites when a ping came through on Galnet of a potential job. It was a few jumps from the system I was in, so I decided to investigate.  Edgerunner Jericho (laughs) obviously not his real name, but I guess that would compromise opsec for the FIO if it were. The job looked easy enough and the intel I have from the FDU states that the system of Eugales is quiet. Arriving into the system I saw that local comms chatter was minimal, and the d-scan was clear, so I plotted a course and flew straight for Eugales VI.  The relay was easy to find but the marines on the other hand were a little harder to handle. The cargo hold of Imicus class frigate wasn't really fit for passengers but we managed to work something out, reassuring them that they wouldn't be in any danger. The drop off location was in the system at the Federal Defense Union Assembly ...

YC122.12.16 - Profits

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY   CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE  YC122.12.16 Good Morning, this will serve as an update on the volatile ice storms and Sansha's Nation activity across the cluster I made a few days ago. It has become clear they are extremely profitable, and I have decided to make full use of NSV Snowdrop. Lower security systems have proven to pay out the most in the form of Deadspace Overseer's personal effects or OPE for short, AURA link an example please  [NEOCOM - LOOKUP -  Overseer's Personal Effects ]. Parts of the  Black Rise region , which makes up a large percentage of the Gallente-Caldari Warzone  have been hit by these storms, and so I can hit two birds with one stone. U nderstandably these areas have increased risk, but with that comes greater reward. So far, I have managed to pay off my first  Dominix class battleship [C/S NSV Diantha] and an Astero class frigate [C/S NSV Abelia] from these sites. I can only imagine the amount of...

YC122.12.13 - Yule Ball Pt.2

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.13 Last night was fun, but boy does my head pound. So much for implants and chemical boosters to keep hangovers at bay. The Yule Ball was amazing though and the venue;   L'Amore in Ballo was so beautifully decorated. I met quite a few people I had only spoken to on The Summit chat. Some were as I expected, so not so much. I managed to convince Edward  to come along, so he rustled something quick to put on and we flew over. I knew what it meant to Mr. Federation, but I did not realise the amount of attention I would receive with walking in on his arm. I am glad I cleared the air with Pamitha  before matters worsened. There was, or is still something between them and it made my heart swoon just thinking about the romance in it all. I have vowed to help her win him back, but that is as far as the plan went that night. The music and atmosphere were lovely despite the raised tension between a couple of Amarri...

YC122.12.12 - Yule Ball Pt.1

Image
//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.12 Good Morning! I have not felt this excited since receiving my pilot’s licence, which in comparison is strange. Tonight, I will be going to my first ever party for capsuleers. Now I have been to parties and such, but those were only your standard Gallente teenaged rebellion kind of parties. And those were also before I became an egger , it is still weird saying that word. It has been organised by Madame Raske who owns the L'Amore in Ballo in the Kasrasi system. By all accounts most of the biggest parties are organised by her, so my excitement and anticipation are through the bulkhead. The system and station are neutral, and so almost everyone is welcome.   I went shopping yesterday for an outfit and picked out a lovely green dress and gloves that fit just right. Aura link the images of what I bought. [NEOCOM - HOLOPIC - My Dress + My Gloves ]  The bodice is covered in beautiful flowers and vines that f...

YC122.12.10 - Yoiul Festival

//PERSONAL LOG //ENTRY BY CLEMENTINE LAFLEUR //DATE YC122.12.10   Happy Yoiul! It is that time of year again when the elders tell folktales of Yoiul legends, children are gifted presents, and we look back and reminisce, or regret in some cases I suppose, on the year we have had. I say regret not for myself but for some of the other capsuleers. In the past month or so I have seen more than I could have seen in several lifetimes. And I have seen what that immortality affords to those that have made millions of more choices than I. No one is perfect and no one can make the right choice every time. Some do so freely, some not so much, but being able to recognise that decision and grow from it is what keeps our humanity intact.  The below poem is one of the more famous ones that the elders tell and it's quite long. For now, I have added the first few verses, but I have attached the link to Galnet for the full version. Let me tell the story of the lads of few charms, who once ...
